I was off the air for a bit of time. But I am missing writing all my thoughts en insights on the virtual paper. So here I am.

What am I going to talk about. Well, I thought it would be a nice time to talk about the happy brain chemicals. So my Lady Prosperity quote says

“Let’s have Prosperity in Life”

So to be a Lady Prosperity. And to have Prosperity in Life. This is a great opportunity to look at what gives you joy & prosperity in your life. Since joy is a great source of strength. I find it important to mention that as well. But happiness has a different meaning to each person. Some are happy with a sunshiny day, while others love to be in the pouring rain. Both are great if that’s what makes you happy.

Now in this global pandemic time. It might not always be easy to find joy in staying at home “all the time”. Work from home, eat at home, stay at home, do everything at home..might even get boring.. at home. And to be honest. I find it very boring and every day is a new challenge to do things that gives me joy to get me to that place of – I have Prosperity in Life -.

So what do you do to get your mood up. Did you know that there are simple ways to improve your happiness. I read this thing about happiness chemicals. That is when your brain releases these brain chemicals that makes you feel good. It might be common to think about doing exciting things, think happy thoughts and stay positive. But happiness is like a journey. It is about finding out the puzzle pieces that makes your great happiness puzzle complete. Most times we can’t see the big picture yet. But each piece connected to another can give us a preview that brings some joy.

So what are the 4 main happy brain chemicals.. That once it is release makes you feel good:

  1. Dopamine – enables motivation , learning and pleasure
  2. Oxytocin – feeling of trust, motivates you to build and sustain relationships
  3. Serotonin – Experience of social power or confidence in accepting yourself
  4. Endorphin – a brief euphoria to mask physical pain

What I found interesting in this line of happy brain chemicals was the dopamine

Deficiency:

  • Procrastination
  • low self esteem
  • Lack of motivation or enthusiasm
  • Low energy or fatigue
  • Inability to focus
  • Feeling Anxious
  • Feeling hopeless
  • Mood swings

How to increase Dopamine levels naturally:

  • meditate regularly (increases dopamine by 65%)
  • make a daily to do list & long term goals (every time you tick off a task of goal it increases)
  • eat foods that are rich in L-Tyrosine (avocados, fish, eggs, cheese banana, pumpkin seeds)
  • exercise regularly ( do whichever form you enjoy the most!)
  • Create something such as writing, music, art & crafts

There are ways to naturally increase the other happiness brain chemicals. I might write about it later on. But why I choose this brain chemical Dopamine, is because this is one of the reasons why I find planning and organisation very important in my life.

Good planning and works lead to Prosperity

When I am starting to notice that I am in low energy or fatigue. I know I have to take longer sleeping hours. Have a good view at my breaks. And eat healthy food. But being tired can work like a snowball getting bigger if you don’t stop it yourself. Being tired can lead to so much negative stuff. Well let’s just say we don’t need that negativity in our life. So to beat procrastination I think about my daily plans. I write them down in advance and go through my week according to my weekly plan. I plan my posts, my writing the blog post time, I plan my breaks of Netflix and relax. And that gets me in my creative mood. And once I am going.. everything is great! See that dopamine happy chemical is working already here. After the writing I have planned to make a nice graphic for it. So I can post it on my social media platforms. I reserve some time for the layout and the colors. And so on.

What really happens is, you plan when you get your intake of a happy brain chemical. And there are several ways to do this. Some go for a break and take a walk. While others might are more of the sporty types. But what I have experienced in practice is that writing makes me feel very happy

So when I got to know about the happy brain chemicals it was my aha! moment why. I was making dopamine by creating the blogposts, being creative in the pictures and social media posts. Besides that I could tick of a task on my weekly planning.

The thing in this is that you find your own way to do things that increases those happy brain chemicals. When it doesn’t goes natural, we have to be intentional about our happiness and joy increase. It is a great journey to find out what makes you happy. Maybe it is a good workout, maybe it is something creative. Whatever it is for you…
